SAINT SALSA BASILICA
Basilica in Tipasa housing a small chapel in homage to Salsa, who was martyred in the early days of Christianity.
Behind the Muslim cemetery lie the remains of the eastern necropolis, whose tombs encircle the basilica built over the martyr's tomb. The small chapel, erected in the 4th century in memory of the young Salsa, martyred in the early days of Christianity, later became an important religious building. A mosaic with an inscription shows that Salsa's body was laid under the altar. Excavations around the site have uncovered the necropolis and a chapel dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul.
