The irregularities of the Cardo's floor reveal the pipes and sewers of the water distribution system between the flagstones. On the Cardo, a path leads to the Christian basilica, from where the view is extraordinary.
A little further along, on the path leading to the basilica, the large jars unearthed and exhibited in the garden-museum bear witness to the industrial nature of the site and have led archaeologists to believe that this was an ancient garum factory (a condiment made from fish waste).
