GREAT CHRISTIAN BASILICA
Impressive Christian basilica in Tipasa, with nine naves separated by columns topped by arcades.
On the West Hill, the ancient great Christian basilica, built around the 4th century, is the largest Christian edifice excavated in Algeria. Particularly impressive, the basilica is 58 metres long and 42 metres wide, with nine naves separated by columns topped by arcades, some of which are still visible. The rest of the large mosaics that adorned the floors of the central aisles reveal the importance of the site at the time.
