This 35-metre aqueduct, which carries water from Mount Chenoua to Cherchell, is made up of seventeen three-storey arches.
The remains of the aqueducts carrying water from Mount Chenoua to Cherchell can be seen on the inland road linking Tipasa to Cherchell via Nador. 1 km after the junction for Miliana is the large aqueduct, comprising 17 arches on three levels, 35 m high. At 40 km, it is the longest Roman aqueduct in Africa. Beware, however, that access to the aqueduct isn't the clearest, as it's located between farms, so you'll have to poke around a bit to get close. Further along the N11, the Oued-Bellah aqueduct is less well preserved.
