THERMS
A site in Charchell comprising three well-preserved thermal baths, known as the "Sultan's Palace".
Caesarea had three thermal baths. The central thermal baths near the theater have disappeared, and those to the east cannot be visited. The western thermal baths, called the Sultan's Palace during the Ottoman period, are more imposing than those at Timgad. Well-preserved, they appear to date from the 2nd century AD. The current entrance leads to the frigidarium, comprising three cold baths and two promenade areas. To the west of the frigidarium, the tepidarium (warm room) leads to the caldarium, whose thick walls retained the heat.
