This bookshop, founded by Alexandre Mauguin and taken over in 1993 by Chantal Lefèvre, one of his great-granddaughters, is an institution. A few years ago, it was also one of the region's unmissable cultural events. The printing works is one of the few colonial institutions to have bridged the gap between the French period and present-day Algeria. Outside, wooden carts from another era await the goods as if time had stood still.
