ST. GERMAIN'S CHURCH AND ITS NIMBLE CROSSES
Church with many nimbed crosses in the pavement of the nave, constituting an archaeological intrigue in Flamanville.
Consecrated on Christmas Day 1670, the church of Saint-Germain in Flamanville has many nimbed crosses in the paving of the nave, which constitute an archaeological intrigue. Its stained glass windows illustrate the legend of the saint, who came from England to evangelise the region in the 5th century. It is said that Saint Germain defeated the supposed dragon of the hole of Baligan, which would have remained frozen in the stone, and that the population converted to Christianity, convinced of the miracle.
