Automated lighthouse of 75 metres high, with 52 windows and 356 steps at Gatteville-le-Phare.

75 metres high, 356 steps, 7,400 tons of granite... Don’t hesitate: try to climb this Cotentin watchtower. From level to level, the 52 windows give you a special light, offering you little by little a breathtaking view of the land and above the sea. Every year, 30,000 brave souls set out to climb the site. Since 1984, the lighthouse has been automated. In stormy weather or when the wind blows at 50 km/h, the lighthouse is closed, which is normal given the altitude. The access to the lighthouse is not free, but the price is definitely modest.

Les 346 marches du phare sont accessibles mais il faut monter doucement !!! Je ne suis pas très sportive ????. L accès à la montée coûte 3 euros mais cela vaut le coup d'œil. La vue est magnifique. A voir.
