The bush planes are seaplanes that supply people living far away from everything, summer and winter. This is truly the postcard image of Alaska and also an experience to be had. The pilots are true regional heroes. The beavers, the name given to the Dehavilland planes, are no longer manufactured, they are authentic collector's items. But it is also the second car of Alaskans, many have their pilot's license. Lake Hood sees nearly 200 seaplanes per day taking off and landing. Several companies exist.
