OSCAR ANDERSON HOUSE museum
Museum with information on the history of the city and Anderson's life, near Elderberry Park, offering guided tours
Located near Elderberry Park, this iconic wooden house is one of Anchorage's earliest, dating back to the city's founding in 1915. It was deeded to the municipality in 1976 by the widow of Oscar Anderson, an Alaskan notable who built his fortune in business, aviation and newspaper publishing. It has now been converted into a museum and the 45-minute guided tour will give you some information about the history of the town and Anderson's life.
