Kennecott Mine, in the middle of a lush nature, becoming the largest ghost town in North America
Abandoned in 1938, the Kennecott mine is definitively closed, emblematic of the largest ghost town in North America. The place is then transformed little by little into a ghost town where the buildings were left "in their juice" and thus sit empty and mysterious in the middle of a luxuriant nature. A real urbex tour! The construction of the mine, all in red wood on the hillside overlooking the Kennicott Glacier trail is an impressive stranded vessel. The hamlet is now part of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.
