Beautiful museum in Granville with collections of photos, paintings, autographs and first editions.

Born in Granville in 1907, Richard Anacréon left for Paris at the age of 17 to become a journalist. There, he met the "Tout-Paris artistique" and, a few years before his death, donated his private collection of photos, paintings and first editions to the town. The permanent tour was renewed in February 2024, at the crossroads of fine art and literature. And in 2024, the museum is presenting a magnificent exhibition on the feathers of the Great War!

L'exposition temporaire sur les bains de Granville est superbe! Et la collection permanente très belle! L'accueil est chaleureux et très motivés pour nous renseigner sur les collections! Quelle gentillesse ! Je recommande !

Super petit musée présentant en expo permanente la collection d'Anacréon, libraire ami des artistes. Juxtaposition d'oeuvres d'artistes connus et d'autres moins, occasion de belles découvertes. Panneaux thématiques explicatifs. L'expo temporaire actuellement consacrée à Colette / Le blé en herbe permet une plongée dans l'univers de l'artiste à travers des manuscrits, illustrations, affiches de cinéma, mobilier, photos...Accueil sympathique, on regrettera juste l'absence de catalogue du Musée.
