Red apples (omena) are widespread throughout Finland. Their characteristics? There is no reception at the hotel, reservations are made via the Internet and you can access your room by a code. It is also possible to take a room on the spot with a credit card. The result is not bad at all: Clean rooms, spacious and well arranged with bathroom equipped with shower, TV, a small fridge, hair dryer. Internet access is available (free of charge when wifi is installed) and for a small supplement, movies or a breakfast in a nearby café. Their main asset: their hotels are always located in the city centre and usually close to the stations (allowing the luggage to be left on the deposit if you arrive before check-in, which is set at 16 pm). In case of a major problem, there is always a contact number.
