Right on the river, the Kultahippu Hotel (meaning "golden nugget") cultivates the trapper-orphaner style, with its brown tones and brown wood furnishings. The hotel is just across the street from Ivalo's major supermarket, making it a convenient place to do your shopping before setting off on an excursion. The restaurant serves traditional cuisine with home-brewed beer. However, the reindeer heads and hunting trophies on the wall are a little kitsch.
