Guest house in Bruges near the Market Square in an 18th century mansion with a terrace in the garden.

This 18th-century residence offers every comfort, but above all has retained the spirit of the period. This little gem of a luxury guesthouse, in a quiet location in the heart of the old town, offers a unique view over a picturesque canal. Barabas is warm and inviting, with its refined decor, original floors, antique ceilings and exclusive furnishings. All suites, decorated with precious antiques found in the attic, have their own distinctive style. The buffet breakfast is worthy of the finest hotels.

My husband Peter, son James and myself had a wonderful 5 night stay at the Barabas..17th - 22nd of September 23. We loved the entire property and location... everything was perfect and everybody was incredibly friendly. Superb breakfast with amazing friendly service. Thankyou to everyone.

I've travelled quite well, reviewed many places, but I gotta say, I had the most excellent overnight experience at Barabas! ???????? My only regret was not staying longer there. The place looks straight out of a fairytale storybook ???? and it's being managed and hosted by some of the most accommodating and nicest people I've met in the B&B business. But the icing on top of the cake? They're also dog friendly ???? if i can stay a month here I would! ???? The photos speak for itself! ???? It's situated about just a 5min walk from the Basilica of Holy Blood and is conveniently near the town square/city center. If you do a boat canal tour, the route actually makes you pass by it. In the evening you get to just chill in one of the tables in the terrace and have a good view of the canal where you can watch swans go about their day.

We had booked the biggest room up at the attic that can comfortably accommodate 6 people. The room was perfect, you feel like you are transported in the 16th century, yet still managed to marry it with a couple of modern touches. It was clean and well equipped even with a hair blower. My only comment was the frosted glass door of the bathroom! We traveled as a family and it was a bit too translucent to my taste. It's not a deal breaker tho! ???? I still loved our stay in this quaint little attic room ????

Hosts are very responsive with questions and inquiries. They accommodated all our last minute requests and was very understanding. The only downside of the place was how far the parking was. It's a bit out of the way, so make sure to drop your bags at the b&b before parking your car

The breakfast is served around 8am. It's the host themselves preparing it so it takes a while but it's well worth it ????. They bring a selection of breads, charcuterie, butter and confiture and they even have freshly made yogurt, granolas and fruit! ???? You can always ask for more, there's also freshly squeezed orange juice, an assortment of teas and coffee available upon request ???? you get to have a beautiful view of the canal while you have your breakfast! ???? It was an absolutely wonderful experience ???? they also serve your furry friends some water in a bowl ????

If i ever find myself in Bruges, I'd 100% stay here again! ???? I cannot recommend my stay enough ???? this time, i will stay longer! ????

Loved everything about it! The place is stunning with so much attention to detail! Our room was huge and beautiful, there is a lovely garden next to the canal where you can have a drink, the breakfast is amazing and the whole place simply made me feel like a princess !

Amazing location, beautiful rooms, impeccable hospitality - we couldn’t be more pleased with our stay of 3 nights in this stunning accommodation. Highly recommended and we would stay again when in Belgium. Photos don’t do this place justice.

Hands down the best vacation experience I have ever had. The cottage was the most gorgeous that you can ever imagine, perfectly located right by the canal in a great neighborhood, amidst the most lush gardens and courtyard. Everything you need is provided, and the little touch of chocolates tucked with your fresh towels was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast is stupendous, a great array of food including eggs done to your preference, pastries, fruits, yoghurt, granola, tea, coffee, etc etc etc. Bert the owner is THE BEST! Responsive, always around for your needs but never intrusive, friendly, helpful - just the perfect host. I recommend the cottage or the Bed & Breakfast wholeheartedly - do not hesitate, Bert's your guy!
