Wanting to visit a city from the
Middle Ages, there was no question; the hotel needed to be from the Middle Ages too! This was definitely one of those. Probably not a level floorboard anywhere, but that’s a huge part of the charm.
Breakfast restaurants round the corner, about 200m to the main Markt and heaps and heaps of nice restaurants in short walking distance. We just loved it!!!
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilft gerne bei Fragen.
Die Zimmer sind ordentlich und schön eingerichtet.
2 jours en couple dans cet hôtel, style ancien et chaleureux, moi j aime.
Le personnel accueillant et parlent notre langue.
La salle du petit déjeuner est à la hauteur du buffet. Bien et copieux.
Les parkings de Bruges sont chers, la ville est propre est très jolie. A faire !
Service was superb throughout our stay.
The room was huge with super high ceilings and huge windows. We had a room overlooking the canal which was definitely worth it. The only negative was the shower over the bath which was not the best / not very comfortable to use.
The hotel is a lovely historic & atmospheric property with lots of old world charm.
La otra cosa que nos ha decepcionado es el servicio de limpieza, el primer día limpiaron, pero el segundo día dejamos la habitación a las 10 con el cartel y no la limpiaron. Simplemente dejaron colgada una bolsa con las toallas limpias enel pomo de la habitación.
Para rematar, el tercer día hicimos el check-out a las 11. Pero nos hicieron abonar 3€ más porque, al cobrarnos en el check-in (pagamos en efectivo), no habían hecho bien "las cuentas" y debiamos abonar 3€ más.... Nos ha parecido ridículo y cutre.
En fin... Agridulce la experiencia.
My reason for the low rating is what occurred at the end of our stay. 1.5 hours after leaving I realised I had left my diamond earrings in the room. I immediately called the hotel who said they would check the room. I then realised I had taken pictures of the room just before checkout and one happened to show the earrings on the mantelpiece, I emailed this to the hotel and called them back. They stated that the earrings were nowhere to be found. I was quite shocked and surprised and expressed my confusion and dismay (the earrings were of both sentimental and monetary value). Perhaps I was naive but I could not understand how they had vanished from the room entirely when the room was left locked and only hotel staff had entered after.
The response from the staff I spoke to was cold bordering on rude. I emailed the hotel manager after I got home and never received a reply. The local police took the matter seriously and sent someone round to question the staff (for which I was grateful) but they could do nothing further as the hotel insisted the earrings could not be found.
The whole experience left me very disappointed and sad, we will not be returning.
Room was absolutely huge with a beautiful bathroom!
Service was on point and they were very understanding of our circumstances.
