Diamonds are Belgium's leading export item. We tend to forget it, but Bruges is the oldest diamond centre in Europe. It is therefore not surprising to find the best creations there. The exhibition and sales rooms are located in two historic buildings: The Sturgeon and The Beet Grain, built in 1514 and 1634 respectively, during the golden age of diamond jewellery in Bruges, under the impetus of the Dukes of Burgundy. It is here, among other things, that you may fall in love with a precious stone.
