SAINT-WALBURGE CHURCH (SINT-WALBURGAGKERK)
A church with a simple and bright baroque facade, a bright interior with three naves, and a remarkable communion table.
This church dedicated to Saint Walburge (Sint-Walburgagkerk) was built in the 17th century between 1619 and 1664 by the Jesuit friar Pieter Huyssens, who also built the churches of Saint-Charles-Borromée in Antwerp and Saint-Pierre in Ghent. This was the Jesuit church before Joseph II expelled them from the Austrian Empire in 1773. Simple, bright Baroque facade, light-filled interior with three naves. The communion table and pulpit are remarkable.
