GRUUTHUSE MUSEUM
Museum located in Bruges, offering an opportunity to discover sculptures, antique furniture, and objects
Renovated in 2019, this house belonged to the Lords of Gruuthuse, who had a monopoly on the sale of gruit, the mixture used to make beer, later replaced by hops. The palace dates from the 15th century and houses 22 rooms. The collections are extraordinary: sculptures, antique furniture and objects divided into 3 periods: Burgundian, 17th and 18th centuries. Facing a monumental 19th-century fireplace, 17th-century wool and silk tapestries depict the story of a shepherd couple: Gombaut and Macée.
