A picturesque square with tourist restaurants and the former home of the huidenvetters' guild.
The picturesque Place des Tanneurs is overrun by tourist restaurants. Here stands the former guild house (1630-1716) of the huidenvetters (Flemish for "skin greasers") or tanners, dating from the late 17th century. It's easy to recognize: a column supporting two lions holding a shield, the emblem of the old trade. The square leads to the city's most photographed spot: Rozenhoedkaai, the Quai du Rosaire.
