LACE CENTRE (KANTCENTRUM)
Museum exhibiting pieces of Chantilly black lace, Flanders and Valenciennes lace, demonstrations,...
Recently renovated, this museum is housed in a building where lacemakers once lived. As early as the 18th century, apostolic sisters organized the teaching of this art for poor young girls. The school almost disappeared in the 1960s. Today, the center features an exhibition of 18th and 19th century pieces, from black Chantilly lace to Flanders and Valenciennes lace. Demonstrations and introductory courses for adults.
