A tired state of hunger overwhelmed me. It was 10:02 pm on a Sunday night, everything was closed or was gross to the thought, BUT THEN Fred 62 came to mind. I had never gone to dine in, just always drove past. I looked to see if it was open and BOOM, like magic it was. I found parking nearby instantly, it was meant to be. I looked at the menu flustered, I was caught off guard by the multitude of vegan options, I appreciated it, but that night - I needed cheese. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato soup ($13) and a side of Mac n Cheese ($8) which came with its own side pickle (surprised me). It was a quality pickle but I questioned its presence on my plate, still I was content with it. I took a bite of my grilled cheese and I could taste the Tillamook on it, a sip of my tomato soup splashed me with a rich creaminess that many tomato soups fail to accomplish. I dipped the grilled cheese into the tomato soup, and suddenly I was sent back to a time I had long forgotten; my childhood smiled back at me in a series of flashbacks powered by each bite of my meal. I looked down at my plate and the iconic duo were gone. All that remained was my Mac n Cheese, who had witnessed the horror of me devouring the main course. It was shockingly hot with every bite, and yet I ate it in quick successions. Only ever interrupted by the dreadful aura of J Cole music playing nonstop. The first 3 songs didn't disturb me, but by the 5th song his mere vocals were an invasion of my eating experience. To put out that sour taste, I ordered a chocolate cake with strawberry cheesecake filling. I don't know why I ordered it, I don't like strawberries - I wanted the carrot cake but the words didn't escape my mouth. There I sat beside a chocolate cake covered in strawberries. Finally I mustered the courage to eat what I was asked for. I was hugged by this warm feeling, not of the chocolate, but the strawberry. An underdog for sure, but it was the big winner of that night. The slice of cake was perfectly sized with my remaining appetite. The Server was a champ and I thank him for aiding my conquest in defeating my hunger. The seating comforted my larger body, but only by a barely passing grade. Overall I left happy, and with that I could rest peacefully.

A neighborhood institution, always a good choice day or night. Get the Chipotle ketchup!

Milkshakes in the middle of the night. Or a beer I guess. Just brilliant

Cute and vintage on the inside, too nice though to not sit on the sidewalk patio. Prices are steeper than indicated--$$-$$$. So much gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan selection though, and safely labeled. As in they seem to really understand cross contamination and not joist call something GF even though it then goes in the frier. Anyway, all day breakfast with both the enchiladas and juevos rancheros we're truly out of this world. The sauces, the fresh guac, cilantro, came out hot and so visually appealing I didn't stop to take a photo. Shakes were unbelievably creamy. Kids had what looked like the best burgers of their lives on fresh toasted rolls, thick melty cheese, and lacy crisp edges on the beef. The onion rings looked, sounded, and smelled amazing but I didn't eat one... gluten. Would absolutely come back, highly recommended!

Don't get the pancakes. They tasted like onions. They were irregularly shaped with different cookness levels, flat and dense. Maybe I went on a bad pancake day? I hope so! I've always enjoyed going with friends to this place.

It's a diner. The coffee was good & it's better than Dennys.

Waiting staff was hands on and were careful about allergy requests. Kind and quick loved it.

Ordered the Breakfast Burrito and Falafel Plate. Breakfast burrito was a very hearty plate with a dense amount of scrambled eggs and pork chorizo mixed in. While it can get a little messy to eat with fork and knife, this is the one of the most satisfying and filling burritos I've had. The spicy yellow tomato habanero sauce was not too spicy, a very light kick to complement the high protein eggs and chorizo. The black beans account for a smaller portion of this burrito but not a bad thing at all. The Falafel Plate had a nice assortment of dips laid out under the falafel. The falafel was very crispy on the outside and a delicious consistency. Paired with each dip, this was a delightful choice to have. The pita bread also was very good to finish off the remaining dip. Overall, service was very fast, friendly, and available. The dinner rush happens later but still had ample seating outside as well. The interior is a 60s American theme with a lot of retro inspired seating, artwork, and decor. Location is very accessible by walking in this neighborhood, parking can be a bit constrained depending on the hours.

Not sure what the fuss is about. They seem to believe that "spicy" is the only flavor profile that exists. Food was average, place is noisy, booths are oddly shaped. Soup came out wrong first and cold second.

My salad was a bit strange. I was expecting Thai flavours but it was more of a mayonnaise taste so didn’t quite fit the brief of ‘Thai’ Cobb salad. Cool joint though.

Went for brunch today and had such a disappointing experience. We were sat outside and had to go inside twice to ask to be served after waiting 30 mins. The service here is diabolical. Also asked 3 times for the heat lamp to be put on but no, that didn’t happen. Food was extremely poor too. Eggs were completely undercooked with most of the white runny. Pork sausages had lots of gristle. Such a shame as it’s the type of place you want to like but it’s failing on all counts. Would never go back.

Went here with my friends after hiking at Griffith Park. My friends ordered hamburgers.. I got the brisket quesadilla. Everyone got a milkshake afterwards as well. I will definitely come back here next time I'm in the area.

Un vrai "diner" US
Idéalement placée pour dîner avant de monter au Griffith Observatory, une bonne adresse. Rien de transcendant mais les burgers sont bons, mention spéciale pour les frites de patate douce.
Pour l'ambiance et le décor aussi.
