Made it not as enjoyable
There was a line so the wait was about 30 minutes on a Monday afternoon. I had seen the reviews on this place was decent so I had some expectations.
I ordered the gyoza for appetizer and the Daikoku Ramen. Gyoza wasn't completely steamed before it was pan fried because all of them had a starchy flour taste in the white areas. The ramen was not bad: the broth had a nice porky flavor. The chashu was different but not quite tender.
I don't think the wait was worth it.
Went here with my family for dinner. We ate in the to-go side instead of waiting for a seat in the more aesthetic dine-in side. I value eating sooner more than waiting outside in DTLA.
We had a mix of ramen and rice dishes and all of it was good enough to eat till you burst. Bigger portions so you can easily take home leftovers. The staff was nice and food was prepared rather fast.
A cozy place to take some friends for delicious, filling ramen.
