SHIBUCHO
You would never push the door of this sushi restaurant, if we hadn't blown the address… In a street that does not pay a mine, behind a decadent facade with, for all ornaments, an aging air conditioner and a Japanese character sign, is hiding one of the best sushi restaurants in Los Angeles. Inside, some elegant tables and modern art paintings that don't play the map of the Far East cliché, and above all a blond wood bar behind which Shige, sushi chef, master of places for over forty years. No menu, no California rolls (so much better) or personalized request. Without detour, Shige will make you choose the amount you want to spend on your omakase (fixed menu left to the chef's good wishes) and will serve you a lacquer tray covered with sushi sushi. What drink with these wonders? Wine, especially Burgundy wine, insists on Shige, who is not serving sake here. The bottles are stunning, the music is jazz, and the salty addition is just a simple detail…
