In the heart of the Arts District, Manuela offers inventive, refined and authentic cuisine. The emphasis is on seasonal produce: the chef only buys from producers and farmers in Southern California. On the menu: fine cuts of meat, fish and seafood, as well as a vast selection of vegetables and seeds. And every weekend, locals flock to the restaurant for its elegant brunch, where shrimp with bacon and fresh mushrooms sit alongside classics such as eggs Benedict.

I came to Manuela as my first solo date living back in Los Angeles. I was so impressed by the barbecue oysters and the sea bass. Raw oysters and burrata salad were also delicious. And I highly recommend the shroom chocolate for dessert! I forgot to ask, but would love to know if that’s a atmospheric map of some day in LA? I’m a geographer and love love love maps.

Parking was a little tricky on a Sunday afternoon and valet now maxes out at $18, but after that things got a lot better. Manuela is a really nice space: open and airy, busy but not too noisy for a group conversation, stylish but not exclusive.
The menu was varied, with some support for vegetarians, and everything we ordered tasted great. Dessert service was a bit slow and no sugar/sweetener was offered with coffee but otherwise service was well-timed and friendly.
Manuela sneaks a surcharge onto the bottom of the menu, instead of just charging what it takes to pay their staff. Not so classy.

Beautiful place located in the Arts District of DTLA with great food and lovely ambiance. Stopped by with a friend for dinner while visiting and I'm so glad we did. Here are some takeaways:
Environment
When you first walk in you get a very rustic artsy and airy vibe. The restaurant is located in a type of art plaza. It's unique because most of the space is outside with a bar located on the inside. A bunch of greenery that adds to the aesthetic. It's simply beautiful. Great for date nights, happy hours, or just a nice meal. I would go back just to be in the space and have a drink.
Service
Our server was great, friendly and very helpful with discussing with us items on the menu. and knowledgeable.
Food and drinks
What can I say the food was great. The cream biscuits and ham were delightful. The roasted duck breast was soo tasty especially with the tangerines. I enjoyed everything. Delicious. Next time I'm back in DTLA this is a go to spot.
Overall
Beautiful space, great ambiance and even better food. Will definitely be back

Excellent cocktails and very friendly bar keeps who know their trade and introduced us to new tastes.
Food/Drinks: Food was delicious. Our server recommended the cream biscuits to start, and her suggestion was on point. Best flaky bread I've ever had! I personally ended up having their venison burger, and it has earned being one of their most popular dish for a reason. It was recommended medium rare and it was super juicy. However, the best dish we had was the shared roasted cauliflower dish. It was seasoned amazingly well and I highly would recommend this as your filler!
Service/Ambiance: Top notch. Server was really knowledgeable on immediately started recommending dishes. Throughout our entire meal, other staff members would come by and clear our dishes as we finish them and provided new utensils. Huge plus. And obviously cannot disregard the views/ambiance! Outdoorsy feel and not chilly since they had heaters on.
