This is definitely a special treat sandwich when you're dying for some meat.
Will definitely go back.
I watched a YouTube video blowing this place endless sunshine, so I decided to take my family there. NEVER AGAIN.
We parked and walked a block to Langers. My 7 year old asked me why people were camping near the dumpsters and if someone had peed on the sidewalk. Both, unfortunately, were true observations.
In the restaurant, I ordered their Famous Numbered sandwich. 24 dollars. Each. That is correct. Was it worth it? NO!
It also included a side, got fries that came out hot with Russian dressing. The accompanying mix of veggies were a perfect match: raw radish, raw carrot, green and black olives, a dill pickle, several baby sweet pickles, and a piece of green leafy lettuce. Did I mention you get 4 slices of bread? Yum!
Service was slow, but it was a weekend lunch rush. The atmosphere was lively and felt like traveling back in time several decades in a good way.
PS free parking for 90 minutes at the Langer's Deli Parking Lot a block away.
The location across from. MacArthur park can be a little challenging but the deli has a parking lot about a block away and they will validate your ticket.
The dining room and restroom was clean and the staff friendly and attentive. Top marks.
???? ???? ????, just bottled beers ????, service staff is kind and friendly and the atmosphere is a vintage place!! Baseball day game fans come to eat as a tradition!
A side note, I thought maybe it was too good to be true, so we came back a few days later. This time no tears just taste buds of pure enjoyment. I will now make every excuse to head down for this fluffy soft Rye bread sandwich & bring friends to share in the experience. Thank you for 76 years of hard work and continued service. I'm very sad I did not know about this place sooner.
I went for the No.19, and it didn't disappoint. The pastrami is in a league of its own - really something special. The sourdough bread was just as impressive, with its perfect crusty outside and soft inside. The mix of sourdough, top-notch pastrami, Swiss cheese, and coleslaw came together perfectly. It's clear why this place has such a good reputation.
