HOTEL FIGUEROA
Very well located hotel in Los Angeles, one of the most luxurious hotels in Downtown
After a year of work and more than $ 60 million invested, Figueroa made new skin in 2016, becoming one of Downtown's most luxurious hotels. With the objective of regaining its splendour of the 1920 s, the hotel returned with the Spanish colonial architecture that made its reputation. It is assumed that Clark Gable and Ava Gardner will come out behind one of its pillars at any time. Very well located, it is just steps from the Staples Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center, and close to the Los Angeles Performing Arts Center, the MOCA and the Broad Museum. If you can't stay there, come here in the afternoon to take the tea to breathe its oasis of freshness and enjoy its vintage style.

Room was amazing. Loved the decor. It looks very unique. I’m normally very picky with my stay and I usually feel grossed out by hotel. This hotel met my expectations. My room felt clean. Loved the washroom decor.
Extra freebie like coffee machine and nice water. Loved how you can use the coffee pods. It felt cleaner and hygienic to use.
I had trouble figuring out how to turn on shower hot water. I realized you need to push the button above the handle to push towards the larger number.
Pillows were too soft (not a good thing). I can handle it and it’s not deal breaker for me. Bed was comfortable. Slept well.
There’s a bar and seating area for food inside the hotel. We didn’t eat there. I took a look at it. It looks amazing. The atmosphere is great.
The only downside about staying in downtown. There isn’t much to do around this area (walkable distance). You have to have a car to drive to do activities. You can also say that it applies to other places in LA too. I wish LA was a more walkable distance to walk around and explore.
Another downside is usually you have to pay to park in LA. There isn’t a lot of free parking but you can be lucky to find them on the street for x amount of time. For this hotel, there are 2 parking options: 1) valet $49 / night as a hotel guest 2) self serve parking (forgot the cost) literally beside the valet parking.
We went with valet. Flat nightly parking rate. It gave us the flexibility to be able to drive out or in whenever we want. Bonus is that this hotel has charging for Tesla. ⭐️ which was really important to us especially we are driving all the time throughout on the trip.
Another negative about this hotel is the gym isn’t good. There are like a few equipment in an extremely small room. We tried to go to the gym. The room was already “full” with only 3 people working out. ????????
Overall, I would recommend this hotel. ✨
