W HOLLYWOOD
An address anchored in an energetic pool district with a breathtaking view of the Hollywood Hills
An address anchored in an energetic neighborhood at the intersection of Hollywood and Vine. A few steps away are the cult music store Amoeba, the ArcLight and Pantages cinemas and the very popular Space 15 Twenty shopping centre... not to mention many bars and restaurants. With its luxurious 21st century style touch, the W is the hotel where Barbarella would have liked to stay. We like to splash around in its gigantic bathrooms. Visitors enter the lobby on a red carpet. 15 floors high, and with 305 rooms, this hotel offers a breathtaking view of the Hollywood Hills, the Capitol Towers tower and Griffith Park Observatory. A small drawback: it is difficult to relax at the pool on summer weekends because the space is open to everyone, including non-residents of the hotel, so the pool is taken over.

The lunch was tasty, I must say. Cheers..............
One of the reasons I stay this hotel is its location in the center of Hollywood. The W is across the street from the Pantages Theater, next to a Metro station, with a Trader Joe's and a wide array of restaurants in walking distance. On a clear day and you can see all the way to downtown.
The hotel lobby has been undergoing renovations for nearly a year now and they have temporarily located the front desk on the 12th floor where the swimming pool is also located.
Along with a well equipped gym, in-room dining, and a friendly staff, the W has everything a traveler needs.
The problem is, this hotel is very noisy.
The double-pane windows are woefully inadequate for keeping out the noise of Hollywood boulevard traffic, so all day and night you can hear the pedestrians, street sweepers, and hot rods driving up and down Hollywood Blvd.
The other noise comes from *inside* the hotel. Depending on what floor your room is on, you can hear the water pipes clang and bang all day and night. If you're on the 2nd floor, forget about having a quiet morning or peaceful night of sleep. Evidently the hotel management doesn't think it's important enough to insulate the pipes, so bring ear plugs.
I am a happy Bonvoy Platinum member and have spent $10,000+ at the W Hollywood over that past 3 years, but next time, I think I'll try another property.
