I loved it here! Great location for my needs. Friendly service, great pool atmosphere and great continental breakfast! I would stay here again! Quiet and great value!

Definitely retro back to the 60s vibe going on here. Clean rooms and a great experience. It's no St.Regis but pulling in here really takes you back decades. The faucets all remind me of my childhood. If you want a clean nostalgic motor inn, this is it.

I stay here every year when I run the Rose Bowl Half Marathon. The rooms are a bit dated (like me), but charming (I hope like me). Very clean, convenient parking and pleasant lobby. Definitely reminds me of California in the 1960's (in a good way). Very nice and helpful staff. Quiet at night.

About a year ago we found the Saga Motor Hotel. We were in Pasadena, it was late and we needed a place to stay. Instead of getting on our cellphones and inquiring through hotel apps we drove down Colorado Blvd. and saw the Saga neon sign and noticed the hotel looked very vintage, inviting and quaint. We inquired at the desk and was given a room by the swimming pool at a good price. The room was spacious and clean and the continental breakfast was enjoyed by the poolside tables.
Since the hotel was on Colorado Blvd. I asked about the Rose Parade and learned the Rose Parade proceeded by and directly in front of the Saga each year.
Several months later I called the Saga and made reservations for three days during the Rose Parade time. When calling the hotel I got the feeling it was run by family and they made me feel like part of the family. We returned for the Rose Parade and found the hotel in great shape with attention to detail. They had munchies available to us at most hours in the lobby during our stay and the attention to guests during the parade kept the hotel organized and void of uninvited parade spectators.
The hotel is like going back in time and we love it that way. The location is good with nice neighborhoods surrounding it. The price of the Saga for the Rose Parade time was increased significantly but worth it due to its prime location and so much more.
We will be back!

I have been a Pasadena native since birth. I am 63 years old. I moved to Atlanta so I know Pasadena. I love to stay here. But as a black man, I can say; I have been racial profiled twice. I have been asked check my room before leaving once out of 6 times, not bad. But when it was the old man it drew suspiciosion. No problem! Now I'm here again for 3 days! I use the micro (no fridge or micro) on the third day. I knew this lady from my previous stays. She worked at night. I checked in at 3:00 pm. 3 days!!!! I go to the lobby to heat up some cup of soup and I'm to get out, I can't use this
micro! I have been a paying Customer at this place for at least 15 days total. Love it but not perfect.

Slightly dated rooms but very clean. I love the building, the pool, the grounds, the parking, the breakfast, and above all the location. A great value considering the insane prices in LA.

Hôtel type années 50, mais très bien situé. Les chambres ne sont pas flambantes neuves, mais c'est un très bon rapport qualité/prix. La salle pour le petit déjeuner n'est pas très grande, mais il y a du choix. Le plus, la piscine.

Lovely friendly hotel with daily cleaning and a hot bath. Free breakfast was croissant, mini muffins, yoghurt, juice cartons, bagels, english muffin, bananas, tangerines and cereals. Love how the room has its own big heater/AC as it got cold at night and was not loud so I could sleep. The location is further from Lake Ave so you need a car or walk over 30 minutes. Plenty of car parking spaces. Mild traffic noise. Only heard the neighbours once. Excellent stay as rare to find a hotel with bathtubs and I prefer baths. They supply shampoo, moisturiser, soap bar and bath gel.

If you have not stayed in an older hotel then you may find the experience eye opening. The decor and the atmosphere takes you back in time. The room key is an actual key. With that being said our stay was pleasant and it offered a nostalgic feeling I have not had in a long time. Property is quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in Saga for 4 nights and what a nice cozy low-key place with friendly and helpful customer service at the front desk. The hotel was very quiet with plenty of free parking; excellent location for us to explore the city and nearby attractions. Our room was super clean with fridge and toiletries; beds were very comfy that both of us had really good rest and tempted to sleep in. Their free continental breakfast was perfect for us every morning before we headed out. And, we both liked the onsite free laundry since we were able to get our clothes wash and dry before we check out the next day. We really enjoyed our stay in Saga, will definitely stay here again!!!

To experience the true spirit of a City like Pasadena there is nothing like staying in a traditional place like this. It is very central, it is very quiet at night, they serve you very well, the parking is very secure, I stayed for several days and everything was very comfortable. Muy recomendable si estas de paso o para el desfile de las Rosa.

This place was awesome, exactly what we wanted. Finding affordable lodging in LA is tricky, but a cute old motel off the beaten path a bit was perfect. We stayed here for 5 nights and did a day at Disney, a day at Universal, a day around downtown, and finished the trip with the Eras Tour. Traffic was never an issue.

The service is phenomenal. The staff were friendly, gave us food recommendations, and a few tips on things to see that you don't hear about just doing internet searches. The breakfast in the lobby is simple, but its great, because when you are on vacation, you get enough big special meals. A banana and a yogurt or a doughnut was perfect.

The rooms are definitely old motel rooms. No stains or smells or anything, just simple, bathroom a bit small, only one pillow each on the beds, that sort of stuff. And the pool right outside the door was great!

Thanks so much for everything, Saga!

Would not work with me on rescheduling a reservation that I couldn't make due to Tropical Storm Hilary postponing an event. It was a non-refundable bookingdotcom reservation so fair enough, but I just wanted to change the dates of the stay due to the storm, not a refund. The front desk even agreed that if I had booked a refundable reservation through their website it would have required 24-hour notice so I would have ended up with the same result. I expected more from a non-chain hotel in a situation like this, but I guess that's the no hospitality industry these days.

It was a very good and convenient motel in the 70's, when I used to stay there often while working for NASA at the JPL. It it is even better now. Congratulations to the management.
