This taqueria was successful in Santa Barbara, probably because the prices are small and freshly cooked. Don't expect a warm atmosphere, but the atmosphere is nice and especially small dishes are delicious. Try the tamales and you will be conquered!

There aren't that many vegetarian options, but the ones they do have are so good. The rajas con queso taco in particular was amazing. Be advised that it's cash only.

I have been a patron of this place since 1978 and I can tell you there’s nothing on the planet as incredible, as fabulous as the gourmet Mexican food cuisine offered at this family run Santa Barbara institution. The mastermind behind it all is Izzy, Isadoro and if you ever get the opportunity to eat here you will be hooked!

Used to be my favorite, but got food poisoning from dinner there last night.

Tacos are great, my two complaints is they don’t post prices for their tamales and they are so overpriced. One medium tamale with sauce is $10, and the Gordita was $5 for a small size without any sides. Gordita was bland, beans seemed canned and too spicy to enjoy. Perhaps a 9/10 level of spicy. We wish we just ordered tacos because they were excellent, salsas were super whatever but tacos didn’t need it. Felt scammed paying $30+ for 4 tacos, 1 tamale and a Gordita.
