A beautiful address to meet the rustic charm of traditional hotels in the region and the comfort of luxury accommodation. In the hotel version, more upscale, or in motel version, simpler and more economical, the charm always works. And we do not boycott the reception with a glass of wine or the good cookies available during check-in.

Highly recommend this place. Love the old time feel and the staff was very warming and welcoming. Right next to a creek so you can hear the frogs at night.

Location is a super easy freeway access. You can walk to many nice restaurants in downtown SLO or surroundings.

Staff is very helpful. Service is amazing. I need to make sure I mention there are comp coffee and apple cider. Love it! Comp wine from 5-8 when I was there.

Rooms are good. Stayed there twice. One time I got the end room with a fireplace and a lovely view. The bed is super comfy. This is a hotel with a lot of characters. Great for a honeymoon.

Second time stayed there booked via Expedia. Got a smaller room at the front. Not bad either but way smaller. Still got character and fire place. Like!

Value - I would say is good value. Way better than a few neighboring hotels for sure.

Oh. Make sure you try their breakfast. Open to public! Check out the pictures

Charming inn. Convenient for visiting cal poly students. Close drive to downtown. spacious rooms with extra seating area and fireplace. Each room has a different decor style- one of our rooms was more light and contemporary, the second had an old Americana vibe with red walls. Bathroom was a little older with a prefabricated shower/tub, but was clean. Lots of “extras” included- free wine tasting, hot apple cider in lobby, choc chip cookies. restaurant on property for a classic Americana style breakfast.

It’s an adorable property! I wish the hours of the restaurant were posted on Google. They are as follows:

7a-11a Wed-Friday
7a-12p Sat and Sun
[and starting April 2024 they are hoping to also be open (seasonally) Monday and Tuesday 7-11]

The post pandemic menu is brunch only.
Also, for old-timers, the mill house has been converted from a cute little walk-thru to hotel rooms now.

Still a great hotel and destination!

Pics make it look great, and reviews for the rooms say they are great. But when you run an establishment that is about hospitality, it starts from the very beginning of your interaction. The phone number goes to a message telling you to email them, and you can not leave a voice message. Which they don't respond to. The automated contact form on their website also goes unanswered. The site also has a number you're supposed to be able to text. That too goes unanswered. I really wanted to stay here! It looked amazing! But I had a specific question about the room I wanted, and after 5 hours of trying to get ahold of someone to answer it, I went to another hotel. Mostly because after 5 hours, the room i wanted was not available anymore. Maybe they are great idk but in my opinion, any place that goes out of their way to make themselves unreachable doesn't really want your business. Maybe they do, and they just are too busy to answer phones or return a text or an email. If they are than that means it's a poorly managed business that either doesn't care enough to hire enough staff, is too cheap to hire enough staff or doesn't have enough business to hire more staff. Sense the rooms where being booked I can't help but say they are too cheap or poorly managed. Really disappointed me and my wife really wanted to stay here.
