EL CORTEZ
Hotel built in 1941 and now historic, housing inexpensive rooms, a casino frequented by regulars and locals.
Built in 1941 on the outskirts of Glitter Gulch - now the Fremont Street Experience - El Cortez is no less charming. We like to imagine the mafiosi of the 1950s entertaining themselves in the smoky corridors of this historic hotel. Its casino, mainly frequented by locals and regulars, seems frozen in time. The small barbershop is worth a look: it has remained as it was when the place was created. Nevertheless, although quite cheap for the area, the entry-level rooms sometimes lack tranquility.
