THE THREE CROSSES
Go there and contact
These three crosses immortalise the memory of the battles between the supporters of the monarchy and the Republic.
Rising 172 metres into the bocage countryside, they were first erected in wood, before being fixed for eternity in granite. They perpetuate the memory of the battles that took place between the supporters of the monarchy and those of the Republic. Indeed, on May 2, 1796, a firefight lasted nearly 3 hours here: the Chouans eventually dispersed, but the heavy toll is striking. They are still regularly honoured by history buffs and friends of the Chouans. The alignment and size of the crosses are a small piece of history.
