A vast presbytery where Napoleon and Marie-Louise stayed on their way to Cherbourg.
The Hôtel de Maillé is the current presbytery. A vast 17th-century building, its surface area was twice as large as it is today. One of its interests lies in its impressively large vaulted cellar. Its name changed at the beginning of the following century when the mayor of the city gave it his own name! The place saw Napoleon I and Empress Marie-Louise passing through its walls, these latter being on their way to Cherbourg.
