BAILEY BRIDGE
A remarkable Bailey bridge linking Carentan to the communes of Brévands, a relic of the Second World War, to be discovered.
It is a remnant of the Second World War and is still widely used. This type of bridge, called Bailey, was a prefabricated structure and therefore easy to install, whose utility was primarily military. After the war, the example installed here remained and has been maintained over time. It connects Carentan to the communes of Brévands and marks a route that runs along the canal linking Carentan to the sea. To find it, leave Port-Carentan along the canal on the southeast side and walk about a kilometre: a nice walk.
