Staff is amazing!

Really great friendly staff and great location however room design didn’t make sense as the toilet lights are motion detecting and kept waking everyone in the room up. They also charge to keep your luggage which feels secure however the machine is confusing and only takes cash. The location is great though!

Nice hostel in the town

I loved staying at this hostel. Location’s great, there’s discounts at their bar for guests. It’s not high-end, but you’re definitely not paying for high-end so that’s okay. Rooms get cleaned daily (although not deep-cleaned), and hostel provides free activities to get to know other guests. I had a locker in my room, but apparently not every room does. I will definitely be staying in other St Christopher locations around Europe!

The sole best part of this hostel was its central location in the old town. Rest everything was miserable, first of all they have 2 buildings one with the reception is very old and other one is modern but lacks any amenities (No shower gel or soap in toilets and guess what to tell the staff u have to go to the other building). The toilets are shared in dorm and the ratio is very poor prolly 4 toilets in 5 or 6 rooms with so many people. Very basic cleanliness, congested rooms. Tbh it’s the worst hostel I saw in my life spent 4 nights here but didn’t feel like hostel their common room smells as if it’s never cleaned no couch or anything to sit. The fridge was full and not cleaned since ages. They charge 5/6 GBP for breakfast which is very basic and unhygienic (serve leftovers and frozen food, found moulds on bread) better go to snax or anywhere else in city u can get much better breakfast as similar prices. Now the staff is amazing informed them about the mould case they just asked me casually to throw it they didn’t even change the lot of bread.

Convenient place but crowded rooms, and showers which need renovation. The bung beds are 3 tiers, and I am so glad I got a top bunk, as I would have felt claustrophobic in the middle or the bottom, you only have space to lie down, no room to sit up. They have some curtains on every one of the bunks, which works for a 'closed-off', somewhat undisturbed sleep.

They have a locker room (2-2.5 pounds for 24 hours) with a small lounge area/ kitchen, but I would just recommend going out for drinks and food. Belushi's right in front of the hostel offers both and live music as well.

That being said, the staff was really helpful and fast in their service.

I was disappointed with this hostel.

There is no real common room, only the reception area which is always really crowded and it was difficult to find a seat. The so called “chill out area” is an absolute joke, it’s a locker room with no windows that smells like a mix of pee and weed, which makes it impossible to spend more than 2 minutes in that room. Also something to be aware of is that you have to pay to store your luggage, which I find a bit unfair on the backpackers.

There is no common kitchen, only a tiny fridge which was so packed and absolutely not sufficient for the amount of people staying there.

I stayed for three nights and during that time the fire alarm went off twice for no reason which was a bit annoying.

The cleanliness was okay, it wasn’t amazing but that’s kind of what you’d expect. There was so soap in our room the first day and also some small stains on my duvet…

To be fair, the location is amazing, the hostel could not be more central so that was really nice.

Super location right next to Waverley Station. Short walk into the old and new towns. Rooms are well looked after and expect typical hostel accommodation. Opposite Belushi's where breakfast is served and you can get 25% off food. Cafe in same building as the hostel which offers lovely coffee. Common room is small and very basic. Lockers available for £1.50/£2.50 for 24 hours.

The picture speaks for itself, I took off the cover of my duvet, and there was this ginormous yellow stain. Luckily, I had already spent the night sleeping with it. I took it to reception and they were just like oh I’m sorry. No remedy nothing. I mean what can you even do at that point? Also the room was freezing the entire night, I kept having to get the front desk to come and fix it. And when I told him it was cold he goes OK. and stare at me blankly. I was like, so what are you going to do about it? Heating in Edinburgh in March is not exactly optional.

It's okay for the price. Rooms are a bit crowded, but most people are just staying there for two reasons: work and travel. I would definitely bring your own towels and locks, as you have to rent otherwise or use coin operated lockers. The lounge has a kitchenette with a microwave, kettle and fridge, but if you want a more robust meal, you'll need to go to a pub or restaurant.

Edinburgh is unfamiliar to me, and my last visit was a long time ago. I wanted to stay close to the train station and wherever I was going. It is a great location, very close to the park where the Christmas market was held, as well as all the tourist attractions and high-street shops. The rooms were quite rudimentary. Fortunately, there was no trouble, and the residents were respectful. The hostel's lack of cleanliness in various sections is one drawback. Beside that, the staff were couteous depending on who was on duty. They don't give you much information, and I had to find things out myself.

It is my first time in your hostel and I can say that for the economic price that we have rented it is perfect and pleasant enough and in a very good location to enjoy the city, apart from that they have a restaurant and bar downstairs and they give you a discount

That is magnificent and the food is very good I hope to return soon the magnificent guys are very friendly I know they try their best which is not easy thank you ☺️

The worst hotel ever! The electricity went out in the middle of the night. We were stuck in the elevator and we had to call the emergency services to get us out! The room stinks like mad!! Don’t book this place.

It’s a well located hostal. The beds were too small, instead of 2 levels we got 3 so, it was a bit claustrophobic. But it was an amazing place to meet people and good service.

Offered to pay for a bed for a honeless lad and got the police sent on us, at 2300 they stormed into the room and chucked us our. Disgusting and upsetting.
