Family mountain lodge with 48 large and comfortable rooms and spectacular views from all sides

We arrive in this old macadamia nut farm after 2 km of a private road. The Brazilian owner, Maria Teresinha, speaks French and gives you a friendly welcome with her husband, Freddy. The spectacular view of the lake and the Arenal volcano impresses upon arrival. The rooms are comfortable. Trails allow you to explore the 600 hectares of the property, home of the famous red-eyed green frog, and then relax in the bubbling baths and infinity pool. The restaurant is renowned for its excellent meat!

Older rooms, no dresser or drawers to put clothes; worked out of suitcase for 4 days

We stayed for 3 nights. The rooms were solid but nothing special. We had two full size beds. Overall I really loved that this place felt a bit rustic while still having some nicer amenities like the hot tubs and pool. The grounds are also definitely worth checking out if you have some extra time and like hiking around. Our biggest complaint is that the food was, generally speaking, bad. Nothing tasted horrible or was undercooked or anything, but it all felt very plain and not especially fresh. Definitely recommend getting lunch and dinner in town instead. Also the included breakfast comes from a menu of limited options. Coming from the US we were used to more buffet style breakfasts which this is not. Also as other people have mentioned the road up to the hotel is rough. We had an SUV and drove it many times with no problem but saw some other guests driving it in a sedan and they seemed far less comfortable.

Great place, great staff, and clean rooms in a rustic, nature oriented setting on a very large property. The only drawback is the very long, winding cobblestone type driveway to be traversed, but the quiet and peaceful setting was worth the drive.

This hotel is an incredible spot in the park, would absolutely return if visiting the area again. The rooms are spacious and clean, and every staff member is welcoming and friendly. You can also spend a couple of days just exploring the property itself, which is filled with a ton of wildlife, trails, and waterfalls. We rented a car and it was easily accessible (with just a few minutes of rougher road leading up to the lodge itself). This was overall a really nice experience and I would not hesitate to book here.
