Park where you can observe many animals, one of the best places to enjoy the Arenal volcano

More than 300 hectares to observe the animals. One of the best places to enjoy the Arenal volcano, and have the best view of La Fortuna. Volcano view rooms have private balconies and are very cozy. Restaurant and 11 km of hiking trails open to all (for a fee), museum, spa, swimming pools... Also one of the starting points for Cerro Chato (shorter and easier than from La Fortuna). If you don't stay there, we strongly advise you to come for the day.

We spent a few hours at the Observatory Lodge and Trails after doing the Mystic Hanging Bridges. It gave us an opportunity to view the Vulcano, have an excellent lunch and walk through the trails. We saw many olingas and many birds. The grounds are very nice. Plan for about 2 hours plus an hour for lunch. The restaurant has great food and excellent friendly service. There is an entry fee which can be paid by credit card so plan for that. We did not stay in the rooms at the lodge so we can't comment but the overall appearance of the facility was good, including an outdoor pool.
