best rainforrest / gabon experience - part 2
Phil and his crew, Paul and everybody else, is doing everything they can to make one's stay a once in a lifetime experience. The safaris are just awesome - we did 2 full day and 2 half day trips. Its so amazing to be able to explore the area with Phil. He is the best guide I have ever experienced.
Unforgettable to me are not only the days, but also the evenings. The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were good, especially since you have to keep in mind, that you are out in the middle of nowhere and supplies come from far away. The food is well cooked, the water fresh and suitable for "white people", cold beers and sodas were always available. We had not a single tummy-problem during our stay!
I can only recommend going there as soon as possible, because you never know how long camps like this will be around and how long nature will be as wild and untouched as it still is at Enamino. I will come back and this time take my girlfriend along!

A hidden Eden
We went to Gabon as our honeymoon trip and Akaka and the time spent with Philip was definitely one of our highlights. His attention, how remote it is, how isolated and this expertise in the jungle was outstanding. I highly recommend it, although it’s for vivid travelers as in the eden you don’t have all the comforts. All you need is the inner peace and silence that this beautiful space gives you. Thank you Philipe and family.

Very disappointing stay. Nice safari with lots of animals and nice walks. However, the stay was tarnished by the lack of organization and communication which is unthinkable considering the services charged. The omelette sandwich is surprisingly priced at 25€. Plan an extra envelope for surprise expenses! The transport option is to be avoided (driver driving at 120km/h at night if you have to...

Déçus
We are sold a dream but the reality is much less beautiful. The camp is on a beautiful site but little maintained the comfort is very summary, we are not welcomed. One day to idle following a change of program of last minute. we had just the impression to disturb. We had to go to the beach to have a drink and we had to go to the beach to have a drink....

I never forgot.
Neither have my children.
I think it was in 2012.
I was going to pick up giant oysters at the mastiff and was the only one there to eat them!!!
What memories ... and the trip to the bush barefoot!!!
I fell in love with the two dogs who did not leave me during the stay. I still miss them today. I hope they were not taken by a crocodile. I hope they were not taken by a crocodile.

magnificent, superb place settings and breathtaking landscape... Philippe is an example for all, a personality to be met!
The eco village of Enamino is certainly the best place on LOANGO to discover this region of GABON, Phiphi (with Paul) is the king of the guides, he knows his bush and his forest like the back of his hand, he always has an explanation to give, always a little thing to make discover whether it is on the animals or on the flora. The welcome is extremely friendly, the atmosphere is family and everything is...

we were the first visitors while the camp was under construction and already the exceptional site and really wild of ENAMINO. You will quickly relearns to rise at dawn, to move in silence to observe wildlife, eat what you will find at our feet, under the direction of Phiphi, the king of the bush. Unforgettable! Gg, Céline
We were picked up in Port Gentil by a very friendly english speaking driver and were taken to Enamino, which is like a 2.5 to 3 hr trip south. Upon arrival at Enamino, we were greeted by Phil, Paul and the small numbered very friendly staff of the Eco Lodge.
Enamino is a self-built (by Phil, the owner) camp situated on a little cliff at the most beautiful coastline I have ever seen in Africa. The whole camp is built as locals would have built it and blends into the landscape seemlessly. The place is so beautiful, that I had to cry when leaving,
The camp itself is very basic (no fluent water, but plenty of fresh rain water for showering etc), electricity is only available, when the generator is on. The rooms are clean, so are the shower and toilett facilities. When booking this place, you have to know what it means to stay at an Eco Lodge in such a remote place in the rain forrest. Eco Lodge means that the impact on the environment is kept at a minimum. Almost everything in camp comes from the area and the camp itself was built with hard work by Phil himself. Being in the rainforrest and near the equator, everything is very humid and it shows on buildings, rooms and their interiour. Going there (in my opinion) means that you are up for a basic stay, but advantoures times: I had been self-drive overlanding in Botswana , been to Mozambique and Simbabwe and LOVE trips like this.
