MARCOUF 44
A unique place of remembrance, allowing to discover a new face of the landing
This unique place of memory allows discovering a new face of the landing. Located between Cherbourg and Pointe-du-Hoc, the command post of the Crisbecq battery is to be discovered. Part of the Atlantic Wall (although along the English Channel), the battery was totally abandoned (its basements were even flooded) before spectacularly coming back to life as a place to visit. Recent excavations have uncovered plaques of US soldiers, and the US administration regularly visits here.
