This castle, one of the most beautiful in the Cotentin, is a nice place to walk around.
One of the most beautiful places in the Cotentin region, it is said. A pure marvel of the 18th century, it was largely destroyed by the bombings of June 1944. Today, the park, the ponds, the main courtyard, the stables and the walls that housed the orangery bear witness to its prestigious past. At the western entrance, a pyramid bears at its base this enigmatic epitaph: "This elegant pyramid, perfect in the eyes of a connoisseur, is here to serve as a guide for those who come to Fontenay in search of happiness." The place is a nice place for a walk.
