SAINT-PIERRE CASTLE
Château built on the ruins of a Renaissance structure, surrounded by a magnificent parkland, with entrance pavilions and a courtyard of honour.
It was on the ruins of a Renaissance building that the nephew of the Abbé de Saint-Pierre had the present château built. Nicolas Blondel, architect to the King, was the designer. Surrounded by dozens of hectares of splendid parkland, walled in around 1730, the château was listed as a French Historic Monument on 6 January 1930. In September 1970, the gateway, the roofs of the entrance pavilions, the courtyard of honour, its parterres and perspectives were added to the list.
