The Battle of the Flowers(Battaglia dei Fiori) is in fact a parade of floral floats that takes place every year in Ventimiglia during a weekend in the second half of June, with a different theme each year. It starts with the night parade on Saturday evening which ends with a beautiful fireworks display. On Sunday afternoon, the real "battle" takes place: the floats parade and are followed by a colorful ensemble of brass bands and folk groups. On Sunday evening, the prize-giving ceremony rewards the most beautiful creations.
