Church restored to its beauty thanks to a restoration in Ventimiglia.
The Church of Saint Augustine, an integral part of the convent built in 1487, has been restored to its former beauty. The restoration of the south façade (Via Cavour) has brought back the intensity of the two-tone play on the stone, the volumes of the ogival windows and the rose above the portal. The cloister, with its superb lawn, is a haven of peace. In 1600, the monk Beato Angelico Aprosio decided to establish Liguria's first public library here: the Aprosiana Library.
