5 kilometers of promenade along the seaside to Cogoleto
The 5 kilometers of the walk, which follows the old railroad line, runs along the seashore to the nearby village of Cogoleto. Its southern exposure makes it a sunny route that is popular all year round. Among the bathing establishments, the Kursaal Margherita was named after the Italian Queen Margherita, who visited Varazze in 1887. Above the promenade, the elegant residential area of Piani di Invrea descends to the sea. Note the strange neo-Moorish castle, a 19th century architectural fantasy.
