PALAZZO ROCCA COSTAGUTA
Elegant palace opening today to the public two galleries of paintings in Chiavari.
This elegant17th-century palace belonged to Giuseppe Rocca, its last occupant. This native of Chiavari left for South America to make his fortune. The emigrant, who returned to his homeland quite wealthy, was able to acquire the noble residence. Today, the palace offers the public two galleries of paintings, the Galleria Civica and the Quadreria Pietro Torriglia, but above all the elegant rooms where the family lived, still furnished and decorated as they were in those days. A true leap into the past, which would not be complete without a tour of the vast park where tropical species grow.
