NUNGWI MNARANI AQUARIUM
This conservation and safeguarding center for marine turtles cares for and pampers baby turtles in natural swimming pools.
It is a conservation and safeguarding centre for marine turtles. These endangered species that roam the Indian Ocean lay their eggs on the beaches of Nungwi, and are often caught in the nets of fishermen. This centre, opened by a local NGO, cares for and nurtures baby turtles in natural pools, which tourists can approach and feed with seaweed, before releasing them back into the ocean as adults. The local guides are dynamic and knowledgeable. Also a dolphin skeleton and another whale skeleton. Expensive visit for the few interactions.
