VASSIL IVANOFF MUSEUM
Vassil Ivanoff chose to settle at the Borne in 1946, where the same land was staged as in La Puisaye, in a small peasant house of two pieces. In one he installs his workshop, the tower and the oven. The other room, known as housing, will actually only be the extension of the workshop. He will build in the first room a wood kiln of 2/3 of m 3, spilled with a single almond called Sèvres. After many torments, this oven will become «his best boyfriend» as he said. The materials are still there in canvas bags hanging up the ceiling. The pieces were cooked in monobats, the bats lasted between 12 h and 2 p. m. and the oven went up to more than 1300 °. Ivanoff practiced cooking as a rite made of love, will, and knowledge: to dominate the elements and their mysteries. The final gesture of this rite was to remove a piece of wood from the oven with the greedy flame, and set it aside to light the living cooking.
Like the character, Ivanoff's work is very important. He left over 3,000 pieces. The Ivanoff Museum has over 550 works, an important photographic background, and many painted fabrics.
