The Spéléo-Club des Mémises is a caving association based in Thonon-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie. It is part of the Comité Départemental de Spéléologie de Haute-Savoie (CDS74), which groups together the department's federated cavers. The CDS74 is a major player in caving in the region, both in terms of discovering the discipline and protecting underground environments. It also offers training and expertise for its members, as well as underground rescue services. Caving is a multi-disciplinary activity combining scientific, environmental, sporting and leisure aspects. It allows you to explore natural, man-made or anthropogenic underground environments, and to contribute to their study, knowledge and conservation. To discover caving, we recommend that you join a club or work with qualified professionals. The CDS74 is also involved in the publication of specialist works on caving.
