FEAST DRILL AND ARBORETUM
Forest which shelters an arboretum sylvetum with a collection of 58 different species planted in early 1930 in Thonon-les-Bains.
In this 53-hectare forest, the hunting ground of the Counts of Savoy during the Middle Ages, the old oak grove is emblematic of the estate. It houses an arboretum sylvetum, with a collection of 58 different species planted in early 1930. The site has received the label Important Animal Conservation Area and since 2012, it is recognized by UNESCO as a geosite of the Chablais geopark. This label allowed the creation of the georoute trail, linking the castle to the woods.
